ButcherBox Review | Top quality meat deliver to your door.
In these modern days that we are buying a lot on internet, a lot of different business with great ideas have arise, and one of them is ButcherBox.
What is ButcherBox?
ButcherBox is an American subscription box service that delivers top quality meats to your door, 100% grass-fed, grass finished beef, heritage breed pork and free-range organic chicken. All animal humanly raised.
This company started in September 2015 as a Kickstarter project, and surpassed its original goal of $25,000 by over 800% in 30 days.
Now some of you might ask is Butchebox is worth it, let see.
How it Works?
Is a monthly subscription service model. You choose one of their plans which will include a mixture of cuts from beef, pork or chicken. Or you can customize your own box.
You order your box, they deliver it to your doorstep in an insulated box. You can also set how often you get your meat deliver once a month or once every two months. Apart from the Box you chose you can also add any add-on, this will be a one time cut of meat.
It’s really simple. And you’ll receive 2 FREE NY Strips and FREE Bacon in your first box.
What Plans they have?
They have 5 different plans (or boxes) that you can choose from. These five plans comes in two sizes. The boxes they have are the following:
- Mixed Box (the most popular, includes beef, pork and chicken)
- Beef and Pork
- Beef and Chicken
- All Beef
- Custom Box
In the first four they tell you what cuts of meat they are going to give you, always with the option of add-ons. In the custom box (which is my favorite, and the one I chose) you decided what cuts and type of meat (beef, pork and chicken) you want.
With the custom box you can choose among 23 different cuts of meat of any type you want. If you only want chicken, beef or pork, or a mixture of them, however you want it.
What are the sizes and what contains each box?
As I told you above, they have five different boxes and each box comes in two sizes here is a little more detail about it.
The two sizes are classic and big box. The amount of meat that comes in each box will vary depending on if is a regular box or custom.
My personal experience.
I found Butcherbox in a YouTube add, and decided to try it. Personally I like the idea of having organic meat deliver to my door because I don’t leave nearby any of these type of super organic supermarkets, like Whole foods, Trader Joe’s, Fairway, etc.
So I had to find a way to get organic meat to my family in an easier way, and thanks God I found this, now I have my subscription and top quality meat.
Ordering in ButcherBox was a breeze, intuitive and fast. The only thing I really didn’t like is the fact that they didn’t tell me an exact date when my box was going to arrive, until the day before. They just tell me they deliver to my area from Tuesday to Saturday.
My box came a week later after I order and they send me an email the day before telling me that my box was on its way. Somehow I understand that they might not be able to give you an exact date of delivery a week before, cause we are speaking about humanly raise animals, not industrial controlled pieces of meat.
When we were seasoning the meat we also notice the quality of it, when compare to conventional meat on the supermarket. Specially the ground meat.
Here are a few pictures of what I receive in my box:
What I like?
- I loved the quality of the meat, you can notice the difference in taste from regular non organic meat from supermarkets it really is top quality.
- The meat was also very well packed.
- I like the possibility of changing the cuts of meat I receive every month with the custom box.
- They have a lot of videos of recipes that will inspire you to cook.
- They are reachable, and support their products.
What I don’t like?
- I didn’t like that they didn’t tell me the delivery date until the day before of receiving my box.
- It can be a little pricey, with a price of around $5.38 base on a 6oz serving approx. But considering the fact that this is top quality meat, and that its deliver to your door, I believe is worthy.
With the big danger of the industrial meats that are full of poison for our bodies, I highly recommend eating organic meat, but if like me you don’t have convenient access to a place where to buy certified top quality meats I recommend you ButcherBox.
If you sign up now, you’ll get 2 FREE NY Strips and FREE Bacon in your first box.
